1. Pop Those Pills
The morning after you drink, first thing take
- Multivitamins. Multivitamins give you back the nutrients that alcohol takes away. Take one the night you plan to drink for an added dose of nutrients.
- An Asprin. Take two aspirin before you go to bed, after a night of drinking. Chase it with a glass of water or Gatoraid to stay hydrated. Aspirin helps you get red of the headaches that are often a symptom of a hangover.
- B vitamins. These vitamins work to reduce and relieve hangover symptoms by replacing the nutrients that alcohol destroys.
2. Avoid Mixing Drinks
Avoid mixing the types of alcohol you drink. Decide what you want, such as wine, while the night’s still young. Your body has trouble processing more than one alcoholic drink at a time.
3. Go For Shots
The Russians have it right. The best bang for the buck when it comes to alcohol are straight shots, such as Vodka. They do the job and contain the least calories.
4. Drink Water
Water is the other drink to chug when you’re out partying with your peeps. Drink one glass of H2O for every alcoholic beverage you consume. Finish off the night by downing a couple of glasses before bed. More reasons why we should drink more water.
5. Eat the Right Breakfast the Morning After
The ideal hangover breakfast contains:
- A glass of orange juice. Fruit sugar (fructose) is said to increase your energy. Drink it to help speed up the rate that your body gets rid of the toxins. The vitamins found in fruit drinks work to get your body back in shape.
- Banana. Eat a banana the morning after you drink to help reduce or prevent a hangover. The fruit contains potassium, which gives you electrolytes. People loose electrolytes after downing several drinks.
- Eggs. Eggs contain cysteine, which help your body break down what causes the hangover, a toxin known as acetaldehyde.

Bonus! Four Myth Cures That Won’t Help at All
Here is the list of hangover myth cures. Avoid them and you’ll feel better, if it’s possible at all 🙂
1. Coffee
Stay away from caffeinated drinks, such as coffee and soda. We know, you’ve heard the opposite from well-meaning drinking buddies. Coffee and other beverages with caffeine dehydrates you, which is what you don’t need after alcohol did to you already.
2. Gatorade or Other Sports Drinks
“Even though the diuretic effect of alcohol may cause the body to lose some electrolytes, it’s not so much that you need to replace them right away,” says Samir Zakhari, Ph.D., director of the Division of Metabolism and Health Effects at the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism. Research has shown Gatorade is no better for a hangover than water from your tap, so save your money.
3. More Alcohol
It will provide a numbing effect, but all you’re doing is prolonging the inevitable, and it will likely make your headache worse.
4. Exercise
You are kidding, right? If you are even thinking about exercise, you can’t call it a hangover!
